Snow Globe Fun

On my way to writing the book, “One hundred ways to use an old CD-ROM,” I created a fun snow globe craft for my kindergarten students. Ingredients: CD, contact paper, snow glitter, bits of paper shapes, tape, tag board, scissors. The shine on the CD really helps the illusion. Trace the CD to get the pattern, adding a “base” shape. Trace the CD again, on the paper side of clear contact paper, adding an extra inch and cutting tabs. Peel backing, shake snow glitter on sticky, add paper bits, place CD shiny side down. Fold tabs to back (tape down if your contact paper is old, like mine was—and listen to the children shout! Check out the finished ones on ArtSonia, Southfield, MI, SCS. We decorated the base with sticky tape patterns.
